Courses & Curriculum

The online MA in Creative Writing exposes you to powerful examples of writing and provides you with an outlet to hone your skills as a writer. SNHU is home to the New Hampshire Writer’s Project and is also a destination for nationally acclaimed writers to read and attend workshops and conferences. This can give you additional context and insight into the industry you will eventually join. All of our courses have also been created by subject matter experts in their field, many of whom are critically acclaimed writers themselves.

If you’re looking for a study program with built-in collaboration, look no further. The online MA in English and Creative Writing places more emphasis on peer-to-peer workshops for additional feedback. Each concentration requires students to take three workshops, so you’ll have the opportunity to hone your editing and proofreading skills for both your peers and yourself.

You will also need to complete one of two teaching courses, Writing teaching seminar Where Online teaching experience. It can give you training to teach creative writing or composition in English, whichever interests you most. Overall, this degree program is highly customizable, allowing you to focus on the types of creative writing that interest you most.
