The Naval War College of Nigeria (NWCN) donated writing materials including books, pen and erasers to students at the African Methodist Episcopal Primary School in Calabar.
The donation was made as part of activities planned for the graduation ceremony for participants in Naval Warfare Course 6, which will be held on November 18, 2022.
Mrs. Habiba Dewu, wife of Flag Commanding Officer, Eastern Naval Command, Calabar, presented the materials to the school, on behalf of NWCN on Thursday in Calabar. Dewu, who is the Area Coordinator, Naval Officers Wives Association, Calabar Chapter, said the materials were meant to enhance the learning culture of students. She said the students need support and encouragement to pursue their academic pursuits, hence the donation.
The zone coordinator advised the students to take their studies seriously, adding that primary education was the foundation for their growth in life.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that prior to the donation, NWCN staff also took time to teach students basic subjects such as Mathematics, English, Basic Science, Agriculture and others.
The school principal, Ms. Dorathy Otu, thanked NWCN for the donation and said the items would improve teaching and learning at the school. (NOPE)
